Our good friends Joe and Sheri have a beautiful daughter Kennedy, who turned one today and we were lucky enough to join in the celebration over the weekend.
She is such a beautiful little girl and such a happy little lady to be around!
The party was amazing! Kennedy's outfit was beautiful, the cake was amazing,
the decorations, her little birthday hat, everything... and my kiddos had the best time.
They keep asking when we are going to go back:)
I knew right away that I wanted to try to make something for the little princess. My main reason for wanting to DIY something is because I knew there was going to be a TON of people there... and let's be honest, there really aren't that many toys for toddlers to choose from and I didn't want to risk getting her the same thing as someone else...
plus you know me, I'm always looking for something to get into:)
So here is what I came up with...
This cute little stuffed owl pillow:)
No tutorial needed for this... you can find the pattern and instructions on pinterest here.
I have to admit though... it says in the directions that the owl takes about 15 minutes to sew... but if you are anything like me and aren't quite friends with your sewing machine yet, it will probably take you MUCH longer... like 3 hours:) and the ears might not be exactly the way you had planned...
just saying!
I looked on etsy for some toddler toys and found a lot of wooden pull toys,
but couldn't see spending $30 plus shipping on something that I knew I could make myself for so much less so I decided to ask my dad for a little DIY help and this is what we came up with!
I love it, and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I am working on a tutorial for the whale that I am hoping to share with you at the end of the week... so stay tuned:)
We had the best time at the party and we feel so blessed to be in this little ladies life:)
Isn't she beautiful!
What a sweet little girl! Your gifts are just perfect. I really like the colors that you chose for both of them. I'm sure she appreciated them and will love both of them for a really long time. Megan
